Abstract

This paper shows the implementation of different algorithms that are used to detect audio patterns. The present work focuses on the detection of fundamental pitch, a pattern found in the voice, determining voice issues and object distance. The comparative basic tone detection is performed with algorithms working in the time domain (autocorrelation, autocorrelation optimized), frequency domain (Cepstrum, HPS (Harmonic Product Spectrum)) and Joint Implementation (Wavelet). A sound bank selecting the phoneme 'A' and 'a' because it has a wide open vowel phoneme is used. The existence of the fundamental tone can be easily detected allowing a definition of the algorithm that presents the best noise or distortion response.
