To adjust future medical information technology and use it, our medical staff’s knowledge and skills on PC and Internet, have to be improved. knowledge’s and skills knowledge and skills of all level student’s should be determined for this improvement. For this determination a public survey about computer-internet use, knowledge, and skills was applied to new entrants and current students. This public survey applied to new entrants 294 and current 263 students by Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty Computer and Internet Technology Student Club, Istanbul University. When knowledge and skills as our test subjects are searched, it has been found that 22.1 % of the new entrant students and 7.2 % of the current students doesn’t know PC use. This situation is verified by the improvement of PC using and buying of current students (p<0.01). There is a significant difference between two groups at using PC programs (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint), in current students’ favour (p<0.01). We think that the main factor this difference is to have 2 Computer laboratories at Turkish and English Medical Department that includes 40 PC via internet. 92,4% current students make search on Medical Information via internet, but % 73,8 of the new entrants have never used search engines about something. This result shows that new entrants don’t need any information search before entering the school. High rate of making chat in new entrant students (70.4%) as to currents students (55.8%) strengthens our result about information search over internet. The most requested activities from our club are Personal E-Mail Address (%59,4), Lesson CD (%79) PC learning course (%65) There is a necessity to give information about the importance of medical informatics and to plan appropriate computer and internet education programs for all levels of medical education.
